Over time, it is common for the washing machine to get dirty and fill with moisture. It is important to air it out and clean it with some frequency to avoid unpleasant situations. Below we show you a guide with simple steps to keep your washing machine free of germs. You will need the following products:
- White vinegar.
- Baking soda or bleach.
- Microfibre cloth.
- Toothbrush.
It is important to keep in mind that you MUST NOT mix bleach and white vinegar, as it can create a harmful gas. Make sure your machine rinses thoroughly after each step.
Drum:
- Fill the drum with hot water.
- Add a quarter of bleach to the water.
- Run a full wash and spin cycle.
- Fill the drum again with hot water.
- Add a quarter of white vinegar to the water.
- Run another wash and spin cycle.
- Clean the inside of the drum with a microfibre cloth.
Detergent dispenser
- Heat 1 cup of white vinegar.
- Pour the warm vinegar into the dispenser cup.
- Run a normal cycle with nothing in the drum.
- Use a toothbrush to clean the dispenser container with warm vinegar.
